SG Interactive is making strides to turn Project Blackout into a serious competitive contender with three new updates for the online, multiplayer first-person shooter. Ushering in the fall season is a brand new competitive online ranking system, as well as a brand new map titled Supply Base and a premium dinosaur that goes by the name Acid.

The updates kick off today with the Supply Base map, a small staging area that facilitates quick but intense matches in a fight for control of the base and its firepower! In addition to the new map, Project Blackout will receive two more updates on Oct. 5. The new month will bring Acid, a small but ferocious dinosaur that proves size is not proportional to lethality. Acid is the first to fit into spaces that only human players could previously reach. In addition to swift bite attacks, it can also cause enormous damage to nearby foes through self-destruction.

The other new feature for Project Blackout is the new Web Ranking System, also launching on October 5th. It will bring competitive gaming in Project Blackout to new levels, with server-wide aggregation and display of gamers’ points and accomplishments.
