Team 17's head of design, John Dennis explains “"With a massive 60 single player missions the game has a single player experience to entertain and test the mettle of even the most destructive "Worms" fan. Set across 5 distinct historical time periods, the main campaign takes the player on a time-travelling caper, from Jurassic swamps to the marvelous castle towers of Camelot. Each mission features comical intro sequences, all-new audio and each historical theme book-ended with a full-motion video sequence to advance the story. As the player completes these missions, further single player missions then unlock for even more 3D dimensional destructive action!
"And as if that wasn't enough, we have also introduced a helpful new aiming utility, the ‘Binoculars’, and enhanced the missions with gameplay refinements to make them more accessible and rewarding. Whilst the inclusion of a diverse collection of challenge modes sees players needing to hone their skills using the Parachute, piloting the Jetpack, aiming with the Sniper Rifle and steering the Super Sheep if they want to write their names in the Worms Ultimate Mayhem hall of fame.
Worms Ultimate Mayhem will be released later in 2011, for PC from Steam, for Xbox 360 from Xbox LIVE, and for the PS3 from PlayStation Network.
