Totem Arts have confirmed the release date for the single player free-to-play FPS, Renegade X Black Dawn.

Renegade-X is a free First Person Shooter with Real Time Strategy elements and is being developed by Totem Arts; a group of volunteers committed to bringing the Command and Conquer FPS experience to the current iteration of the Unreal Engine. Renegade-x plans to recreate and modernize Westwood Studio's 'Command and Conquer: Renegade’s' multiplayer experience.

Available for download on January 28th 2012, Black Dawn is a singleplayer mini-campaign that will precede the Renegade X multiplayer release. The United Nations 'Global Defense Initiative' (GDI). In Black Dawn gamers will play as Captain Nick 'Havoc' Parker, a rough and tough GDI commando leading a special forces team into the heart of enemy territory: Operation Black Dawn.

Black Dawn is not a long campaign, but it is a step towards the full version. It will be complete with many weapons, vehicles, scores of new features, cinematics and dialogue, and much more.
