Rovio Entertainment’s Angry Birds on Facebook has today flown the coop and left its beta status to become 'Angry Birds Friends', with a new tournament mode and new weekly levels.

“We can’t wait for our fans to play Angry Birds Friends,” said Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games at Rovio Entertainment. “These great features add a compelling new dimension to the gameplay that fans already know and love, and with new levels every week, there’s always a new challenge to try!”

With the weekly tournaments in Angry Birds Friends, fans can prove they’re the best Angry Birds player around. Every week, fans have from Monday to Sunday to compete with friends on four different levels. The pig-popper with the best overall score will earn a gold trophy, with silver and bronze for second and third place. Angry Birds Friends has four new levels every week, available exclusively in tournament mode, so there are always new levels to check out.

In addition to the daily rewards fans already get, they can now earn power-ups through tournament mode. Earn three power-ups bundles for a gold trophy, two for silver, and one for bronze. Fans also get a power-up for each tournament level they play, and one for participating in the tournament.
