Fans who jump in to this free-to-play universe today can also choose between four new Trial Mechs as the Commando COM-2D, the Blackjack BJ-1X, the Catapult CPLT-C4 and the fan-favorite Atlas AS7-RS are now available to try at no cost in the game as part of the popular "Trial Mech" feature.
Additionally, for new and returning fans this week there’s still time to pre-order all four packages of Mechs available as part of MechWarrior Online’s Project PhoenixX, which was announced last week. All four Project Phoenix Mechs have been revealed (http://mwomercs.com/phoenix) and will never be available again in MechWarrior Online as this is a limited-time offer.
Today’s new content also delivers new cockpit statues for the Trebuchet and Jagermech, the new “Tartan” pattern for the more Scottish-inclined players and overall gameplay enhancements. One of the smallest changes is also quite significant: Voice commands have changed all references of "Team Commander" to "Company Commander" indicating fans are one step closer to the long-awaited 12 vs. 12 player combat, which is scheduled to go live soon.
Currently in Open Beta, Mechwarrior Online will officially launch on September 17th, 2013.
