EA has been forced to radically change its plans for Christmas, as Battlefield Hardline is redesigned following feedback from the beta. Delays have been announced for two of EA’s biggest games this year, with Dragon Age: Inquisition being put back a month from 10 October till November 18.

EA announced today that players can get an early look at its team-based FPS Battlefield Hardline via a public beta launching today on the PlayStation 4 and PC. Players who own the PlayStation 4 version of Battlefield 4 can download the beta via the PlayStation Store, and the PC signups are available at EA's website on a first-come, first-serve basis.

EA was forced to confirm Battlefield Hardline after a logo and trailer leak of the game. However, it looks like the publisher is rolling with the punches and capitalizing on the excitement and hype that’s been generated. According to Visceral general manager Steve Papoutis, there’s plenty more Hardline goodies to come. “So yeah, that happened. Not how we wanted to unveil Hardline, but all good.
