Test your rapid problem-solving skills in the 'Advanced Experiments' DLC for Beyond: Two Souls on PS3. This DLC is an additional scene for the game in which you test your rapid problem-solving skills as you guide Jodie and the mysterious entity Aiden through a series of tough training missions. The Advanced Experiments DLC is available when the Store updates later today, priced €4.99/£3.99.

Today we can confirm that the Beyond: Two Souls demo will be available on Tuesday, October 1st on PlayStation Store (October 2nd in Europe). There will be opportunities for a few of you to get in early on September 24th — we’ll be announcing those soon. This demo will include two scenes from the game, giving insight into the extraordinary story that awaits you next month.

Beyond: Two Souls features two-player, co-op multiplayer, with one person controlling Jodi Holmes, the main protagonist, and the other taking control of Aiden, the entity tethered to her entire existence, Quantic Dream founder David Cage revealed at Gamescom. Players pass control between Jodi and Aiden, on a single screen, by pressing triangle.

In order to illustrate the sheer scale of Beyond: Two Souls’ script, Sony has sent a number of blank copies to various North American outlets. As you can see from the embedded image, it’s pretty big. Of course, it’s not necessarily indicative of the length of the game, as there will be branching paths and different decisions that you’ll be able to make.

Last year at E3 we announced the much anticipated title from Heavy Rain creators Quantic Dream and the mind of visionary director David Cage. BEYOND: Two Souls is a psychological action thriller starring Oscar nominee Ellen Page (Inception, Juno) in the lead role of Jodie Holmes and featuring Quantic Dream’s unique brand of gameplay.

Beyond: Two Souls from Quantic Dream will be released at some point this year, but studio head David Cage already has plenty of project ideas for what to work on in the years ahead. In fact, he told GamesIndustry International during DICE last week that he probably already knows what his next three titles will be.

Beyond: Two Souls, which follows the story of young Jodie Holmes (played by Hollywood starlet Ellen Page) and her mysterious supernatural companion, Aiden, lit up E3 earlier this year with its stunning reveal trailer. We haven’t heard a great deal on the game since, so we caught up with Quantic’s founder, David Cage, at Paris Games Week for a quick progress update.
