Black Prophecy has today released its newest add-on, 'Episode 3: Rise of the Boids'. New to the game, the Boids are a robotic race who have been waiting eons for a mysterious, universe-altering event to occur. Though the Boids continue to wait in ritual, players of the space combat MMO no longer have to wait for many widely requested features, including a level cap increase to 50, new story missions, one new warzone, a new open world sector for players level 40 and up, 11 new job missions and a brand new PvE raid system.

Long desired by Black Prophecy players, PvE raids have finally earned a prominent place in the game. Players can form large groups and battle alongside each other through two raids that are the longest, most complex missions the game has seen to date. PvE raids will also culminate in large-scale boss fights that offer unique and epic rewards. 11 new special abilities will also be implemented to bolster team play during each raid.

Along with this major addition, various tweaks have been made to a number of areas, including tutorial mode, missions and mission debriefings, along with improvements to the HUD and mission tracking. With all of these tweaks and new features, 'Episode 3: Rise of the Boids' refreshes the overall Black Prophecy experience. While the Boids continue to await the universe-altering events, players will be immediately thrilled with the alterations made to their roles within the Black Prophecy universe.

Gamigo have released the second expansion for its free-to-play MMOG, Black Prophecy.

Episode 2: Species War includes the addition of six new PvP warzones. Each warzone contains 3 sub-sectors: the Support Zone, the Outpost Zone and the Command Center. Each sub-sector must be fought through and conquered individually before moving on to the next. Once all three sub-sectors in an area have been won, a faction can consider that warzone to be conquered and it cannot be attacked by other factions until a countdown timer runs out.

The three sub-sectors that must be won include:

Support Zone: Killing enemy players in these zones gives a buff to fellow players in the Outpost and Command Center sectors that accelerates the capturing of domination points.

Outpost Zone: Each Outpost zone has three domination points that have to be held by the attacking forces within five minutes each. Once all three Outpost Zones have been captured, the way to the Command Center is open.

Command Center: The main sector that has to be dominated in order to gain control of the entire warzone. Once players have made their way through the Outpost zones, the Command Center’s domination points must be captured. After all nine points have been taken by the attacking forces within 20 minutes, the warzone is considered captured and the warzone-specific player buffs are activated.

Conquering a warzone earns you more than just bragging rights. Players can gain distinct bonuses and major advantages for winning each sub-sector for their faction. Those victorious will reap high rewards as major XP and the ability to trade earnings for exclusive upgrade blueprints that can only be found in warzone hubs. As more outposts are won, the faction will earn greater individual and group powers.

The first episode for the space combat MMOG Black Prophecy ""Episode 1: Inferno in Tulima." has gone live. With this new add-on, publisher gamigo and developer Reakktor have not just expanded the game mechanics but also introduced a wealth of new content.

"Episode 1" will also introduce a number of improvements to Black Prophecy. For example, construction times are now a thing of the past: Ship modifications are now completed immediately, so players can jump right back into action. A new type of weapon, the flak cannon, add even more explosive excitement to battles.

These have also been made more dynamic by the new special skill system: Players can activate attack drones, for example, or overload their weapons temporarily to make life difficult for their enemies. When the vast emptiness of space gets too crowded, experienced pilots utilize a shockwave to push away attackers within a set radius.

Other changes have been made to the game to help improve gameplay based on feedback from the community. These include an overhaul to the messenger system as well as a customizable interface.

Information about all the new content of "Episode 1: Inferno in Tulima" can be found on the game's official website.

The space action MMOG Black Prophecy has received new content with the release of its first monthly patch. The highlights of this patch are the ten new missions in open sectors, available to players on different levels. A number of other smaller improvements have also been made:

Performance in all sectors has been improved.
Bugs in the ship status display have been fixed.
Damage distribution has been changed slightly. Damage is now distributed evenly to all active ship parts. This is done proportionally to the part's durability percentage in relation to the entire ship. The part that gets hit directly (unless it's the cockpit) will receive slightly more damage than the other parts.
Repair kit durability is now distributed evenly to all active ship parts. This is done proportionally to the part's durability percentage in relation to the entire ship.
The amount of points repaired by higher level repair kits has been increased.

After long years in development, today's the day: the space combat MMOG Black Prophecy has officially lifted off and is now open to all players.

Patrick Streppel, Executive Board Member at gamigo, said this: "There's no doubt for us that Black Prophecy will mix things up in the MMO gaming world. It will breathe new life into the space combat genre and such elaborate production has also never been seen before in the free-to-play market."

Kirk Lenke, CEO of Reakktor Media, said this: "With the launch of Black Prophecy, the most comprehensive, exciting and ambitious project in the long history of our team is going live. All this is the result of the hard work of an extremely dedicated and talented group of people. The launch of this high-quality free-to-play game proves that we have met the high expectations set for Black Prophecy. We're looking forward to seeing lots of players in the game and to hearing the feedback from community members that have been with us for years as well as from new fans. We hope players will enjoy the game as much as our team does."

Right from the start, players will be drawn into the frenzy of space combat while following the rich and exciting background story. The story is told in spectacular cutscenes complete with voice-over recordings and a top-quality soundtrack.

Players can choose to join one of the two factions: the genetically-perfected Genides or the cybernetically-optimized Tyi. Whichever side they choose, there's lots to be done in the vast endlessness of space. Besides the story missions that unveil the plot, players can also complete hundreds of action-packed PvE and PvP missions or group up to form clans. Together they can collect resources and build their own clan station, which can then be expanded upon with a variety of different modules. Ships can also be customized to suit each player's preferences using some of the countless building parts available.

European players can register to play on the game's official homepage. Players in North America will be able to play the game soon, as closed beta testing will begin shortly. Black Prophecy can be played in English or in German.
