The Unreal Engine 3 powered free-to-play FPS was originally scheduled to arrive as a PS4 launch title last Friday but it suffered a brief last-minute delay. The team is now bringing the game to the new player base in Europe-without the need for a PlayStation Plus subscription.
Studio Director, Jared Gerritzen, says “This is a really great time for our studio, and we know that our current fans and newcomers alike will enjoy the game as much as we do.”
Blacklight: Retribution is a free-to-play, futuristic first-person shooter that lets you customize your character to suit your playstyle using the latest in military weaponry. Change out every part of your weapon selecting from a wide array of magazines, scopes, barrels, and receivers. Further customize your loadout with grenade launchers, rail guns, flamethrowers and mini-guns.

Headlining the many new features introduced with today's update is the titular new mode Onslaught, a four-player co-op mode that finds agents joining forces to survive the zombie apocalypse as they battle waves of bloodthirsty infected.
Agents who download Blacklight: Retribution Onslaught through Valve's Steam network can also look forward to a variety of in-game item packages, including the Silver Crowbar melee weapon, reserved exclusively for Steam players.
Starting today, Blacklight Retribution: Onslaught is also available for the first time to first-person shooter fans in Turkey, offering players in that region an improved experience with a fully localized version of the game.
"We've come a long way since Blacklight: Retribution first launched in 2012," said Perfect World Entertainment General Manager Andrew Brown. "We're thrilled to see Blacklight: Retribution continue to enjoy success on popular platforms, like Steam. In celebration of the Steam launch, every new Blacklight: Retribution player who registers through Steam and reaches level five is granted a free orange Portal weapon tag. In addition, both Steam and veteran players will have the opportunity to acquire a blue Portal Weapon tag during the first week of the Steam launch.
"We're excited to make Blacklight: Retribution available to all the PC gamers using Steam," said Clifton Chu, Product Manager, Perfect World Entertainment. "The level of competition is going to be raised from intense to cut-throat with the influx of new Steam players."
Perfect World Entertainment also launched new Oceanic servers to better serve players in and around Australia and New Zealand. Players in those regions can now interact with North American players without experiencing latency issues typically associated with connecting to faraway servers.

The adrenaline pumping FPS offers a multiplayer experience with action-packed battles, futuristic maps, and a wide variety of weapons and gear. With endless customization options, players can customize everything about a weapon, from its barrel, to ammo types, stocks, muzzles, optics, colors and even weapon tags. Unique tools like the Hyper Reality Visor (HRV) allow gamers to see enemy locations, team movements, and primary objectives to jump right into the fight.
