Paradox Interactive has announced today that pre-orders are now available for Cities in Motion 2, their forthcoming transit simulation and design game for PC and Mac.

Players can pre-purchase the dynamic strategy title now from the game’s new website. Cities in Motion 2 is scheduled to launch on April 2nd, 2013 for $19.99.

As a bonus for all pre-purchases of Cities in Motion 2, early adopters will receive the “Modern Collection” DLC which includes additional trolley buses, trams, and a boat for water lines. The Modern Collection also introduces a new stop type, which allows trams, buses, and trolleys to share the same stop and allow passengers to switch vehicles with ease, and therefore minimize congestion.

In Cities in Motion 2, players must design, construct, maintain, and expand a multifaceted transit network that serves the needs of a growing city. Fleets of vehicles, including buses, trains, ferries and subways, must be assembled and set in motion on player-created tracks and routes, providing affordable and efficient transit between growing residential and commercial centers. As players engineer their systems, the city will grow dynamically around them, keeping players on their toes with increased population, congestion, and budgetary concerns.

Paradox Interactive has announced at Gamescom that Cities in Motion 2 will be available for the PC and Mac in Q2 2013.

Building and expanding on the original Cities in Motion transit simulation game, Cities in Motion 2 has a wealth of new features for both first-time digital travelers and regular computer commuters, including the addition of both co-operative and competitive multiplayer modes.

Cities in Motion 2 is a transit simulation strategy game, where players are responsible for creating efficient, effective, and affordable public transportation systems for some of the world's most famous cities. By refining and implementing designs for their transit networks, ambitious urban engineers will guide their cities to growth and prosperity while upgrading and maintaining many different vehicle fleets, from buses to ferries to subways.
