Throughout the fields and cities of Dragon’s Dogma, you will find all sorts of hidden items. These items, however, are not necessarily effective or of particularly great value on their own. That's where “combination” comes into play. Item combining allows you to put two items together to create new items.

Capcom has announced it will be ‘re-evaluating’ how much on-disc downloadable content it will be creating in future. The statement is in response after Capcom has been criticised by gamers for including DLC on-disc rather than have players download it post-launch, with mostly Street Fighter x Tekken being the focus of many complaints.

Senior vice president Christian Svensson explained they have been listening to player complaints:

"We would like to assure you that we have been listening to your comments and as such have begun the process of re-evaluating how such additional game content is delivered in the future. As this process has only just commenced in the past month or so, there will be some titles, where development began some time ago and that are scheduled for release in the coming months, for which we are unable to make changes to the way some of their post release content is delivered."

"One such title is Dragon’s Dogma, where the decision to include some additional (but not all planned additional) game content for the game on disc was made at the beginning of the game’s development cycle as at the time this was determined to be the most efficient way of ensuring certain content was made available. Owners of Dragon’s Dogma will be able to further their gameplay experience with the release of additional quests, weapons and other items in the months following the game going on sale."

"Just wanted people to know in advance the whys, wherefores and where we're going in the future. You are being heard. Thanks."

Capcom has today revealed a new event mode for Dragon's Dogma, in which players and their parties of Pawns can compete collectively with other players from around the world in an asynchronous encounter against the Ur-Dragon via Xbox LIVE or PlayStation Network.

The effect of each party’s attacks will be combined, but be warned its immense strength means it will take multiple encounters before the Ur-Dragon finally falls. Players that deals the fatal blow will receive the maximum reward, but regardless all players can still obtain both common and rare items dropped by the Ur-Dragon when they inflict damage.

Players without an online connection can also take on the Ur-Dragon alone, but the rewards will be different to those received online. All slayers of the Ur-Dragon will have their names and play times recorded in a hall of fame for others to view and aim to beat.
