Resident Evil 6 is now available on PC and coming soon is the free L4D2 addition to Mercenaries: No Mercy, which pits Coach, Ellis, Nick and Rochelle against RE enemies, plus brings in the Witch and Mini-Tank from L4D2.

Friday, 15 March 2013

Capcom and Valve have announced the Resident Evil 6 x Left 4 Dead 2 project. This crossover project will see characters from Left 4 Dead 2 featured exclusively in the forthcoming PC version of Resident Evil 6, while enemies from Resident Evil 6 will invade the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2. All content will be made available completely free for fans of either games to access and play.

Owners of Resident Evil 6 PC will be able to select one of four survivors from Left 4 Dead 2’s iconic cast – Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle – when playing PC exclusive mode, The Mercenaries No Mercy. Each character will have a special customized weapon load-out created just for use in Resident Evil 6.  In addition to the four survivors, two of the infamous Special Infected zombies from the Left 4 Dead franchise – the Witch and Mini Tank – will also make a cameo appearance in this mode, relentlessly attacking players regardless of whether a character from Left 4 Dead 2 or Resident Evil 6 is chosen. This new and exclusive content will automatically be downloaded in the background to all owners of the PC version of Resident Evil 6 from April 5th.

Making the leap to the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be some of Resident Evil 6’s most fearsome enemies – Lepotitsa, Napad and Ogroman. All three characters were brought to life in Left 4 Dead 2 by Valve’s renowned developers using its Steam Workshop tools. Owners of the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 will be able to face a new deadly challenge when Resident Evil 6 characters infect Valve’s classic zombie title this spring.

Commenting on the crossover project, Chet Faliszek from Valve stated: “We’re huge Resident Evil fans, so when the opportunity arose to work directly with Capcom to combine L4D2 and RE6, we jumped at it.”

Resident Evil 6 Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi added: “The Resident Evil 6 team really enjoyed working on this crossover, and we’re confident that our fans will have a great time with it too! We hope you enjoy this unique content.”

The PC version of Resident Evil 6 will contain a new and exclusive game mode, Mercenaries: No Mercy, Capcom has announced.

The Mercenaries: No Mercy mode takes the fan favourite Mercenaries mode and ramps up the gameplay to 11. With more enemies on screen than ever before, the new game mode will provide a greater challenge, but also give players the opportunity to use their skills to rack up even higher combo scores.

Resident Evil 6 for the PC will be available as a digital download in North America from March 22nd, 2013, with European PC gamers able to purchase both the digital version and a disc based version from the same date. Both digital and physical versions will include the following features, which were added to the console versions in post-launch title updates: access to Ada Wong’s campaign from the outset along with the option to play this campaign with a co-op partner and the ability to fine tune the in-game camera. As with the console releases, players of the PC version will also be able to take advantage of ResidentEvil.net.

Owners of Resident Evil 6 will be able to further expand their gameplay experience with the release of a fourth additional mode, Siege. An online multiplayer mode for two to six players, Siege sees a lone AI-controlled rookie BSAA agent in trouble and in need of help. Players will split into two teams with one assuming control of enemy creatures who are trying to take down the rookie, while the other team selects playable characters from the main game and must keep him alive. Each game consists of two rounds with teams switching between the human and enemy roles. The human team wins a round if the BSAA agent survives, while the enemies win if they can defeat him. Siege Mode will be available in March for the Xbox 360 and PS3, priced at 320MSP/$3.99/€3.99/£3.19.

It has also been confirmed that Survivors, Predator and Onslaught game add on modes will be available for PlayStation 3 owners this February, with each individually priced at $3.99/€3.99/£3.19.

All four post launch game add on modes – Survivors, Predator, Onslaught and Siege – will be available for PC owners to download and purchase shortly after March 22nd, with any future title updates for the console version also being made available free of charge for PC owners.

The three new multiplayer modes for Resident Evil 6 - Predator, Survivors and Onslaught - are now available for purchase for the Xbox 360, Capcom has announced. The DLC are timed-exclusive for the Xbox 360 and will be released for the PlayStation 3 and PC at a later date.

Each of the multiplayer modes are individually priced at 320 Microsoft Points or all three can be purchased together as a bundle pack for 720 Microsoft Points on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Details of the new modes along with their gameplay videos can be fount below:

Predator
In a series of quick fire rounds, up to six players take their turn as the fearsome Ustanak with full access to its weapons, while the others must avoid capture or worse. Human players score points for successful attacks, but lose points for being caught or taken down. The match is over once all have played as the Ustanak, with the participant with the most points crowned as the winner.

Survivors
This is the Resident Evil 6 take on the classic solo and team based deatchmatch mode. Like Predator, you’ll compete for the highest score, but once a player is taken out, they respawn as one of the game’s enemy characters, and must then defeat another human character in order to return to the fray as their original player character. Survivors is available for two to six players.

Onslaught
Chaining combos is the key to success in this two player mode where each must clear waves of oncoming enemies. The twist comes when a player completes a combo chain as this will send enemies over to their opponent’s screen. Expect the balance of power to constantly shift in this intense addition to the Resident Evil 6 experience.

Three new multiplayer modes for Resident Evil 6, Predator, Survivors and Onslaught, will be available for purchase for the Xbox 360 this December 18th, Capcom has announced. The DLC is a timed-exclusive for the Xbox 360 and will be released for the PlayStation 3 and PC at a later date.

Each mode is priced at 320 Microsoft Points or players can purchase all three modes together as a bundle pack for 720 Microsoft Points on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Available for two to six players, in Predator one player takes on the role of the Ustanak, the fearsome B.O.W. that stalks Jake Muller throughout his campaign, and tries to eliminate the human players. The humans’ task: stop the deadly B.O.W. in its tracks, or at least survive until the end of the session.

Survivors takes the classic solo and team-based versus mode and adds a twist. Get killed and respawn as an enemy character with the ability to attack the human characters. Take down one human character to resurrect in human form. Last man or team standing wins. Survivors can be played by two to six players.
