The Saints Row 4 National Treasure Edition will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC this summer for $29.99, Deep Silver has announced, Shipping to retailers on July 8th, the title will be available via digital download and on store shelves by mid-July.

Included in the National Treasure Edition will be the entirety of the Saints Row 4 add-on content catalogue totaling a whopping 29 separate DLC items and content packs totaling more than $60 in value. Also included is the fabulous Grass Roots ‘Merica! gun, which functions similarly to the completely insane and otherwise totally bad ass multi-use weapon previously only available in the Commander In Chief Edition. The National Treasure Edition Grass Roots ‘Merica is a weapon with unmeasurable freedom containing: a light machine gun, a sub machine gun, an auto shotgun, heavy pistol, a minigun, a rocket launcher, a flamethrower and a huge combat knife all in one gun.

Actor-comedian Jay Mohr (Pay it Forward, Jerry Maguire) tweeted last night that he was in a sound booth to record voiceover for a new entry in the over-the-top open-world action series. "About to do my voice over work for new Saints Row video game. #showbiz," he said on Twitter with the image [right].

Fans of Saints Row 4 can soon indulge themselves in some appropriately freaky stuff as the long awaited Enter the Dominatrix DLC will be available this month on October 23rd.

The DLC includes an alternate Zin invasion storyline with the Saints trapped in a virtual world run by the AI program known as the Dominatrix – from there it's a battle to survive against sex workers and gimps. Enter the Dominatrix includes new weapons, enemies, allies and missions, and features behind-the-scenes commentary.

Those who have purchased the Saints Row 4 Season Pass will automatically receive Enter the Dominatrix. For players wishing to purchase the DLC standalone, they are able to do so for £5.99. The second half of the Saints Row 4 season pass and final mission pack, How the Saints Saved Christmas, will be released later this year.

Fans will also have the opportunity to ask the developers questions during a three-hour livestream playthrough of Enter the Dominatrix on October 23rd starting at 1pm CET on Volition’s twitch channel.

Volition has revealed two new DLC packs for Saints Row 4, one of which makes a tongue-in-cheek reference to Rockstar's rival series Grand Theft Auto. Discussed during the latest PlayStation Blogcast, the first DLC release, "GATV", is aptly named to cash-in on the recent Grand Theft Auto 5 buzz and is expected this week. Also scheduled for release this week is the "Wild West" DLC pack.

Deep Silver and Volition have released the second developer diary for Saints Row 4. This week's video  centers on the story and the endless possibilities inside the game.


Deep Silver has today unveiled a very special edition of Saints Row 4. The Super Dangerous Wad Wad Edition aka The Million Dollar Pack will contain a selection of very Presidential items and activities for the ultimate Saints Row experience.

One Saints Row fan will be able to purchase this limited edition package which contains:
  • Saints Row 4 : Commander in Chief Edition;
  • A full sized replica Dubstep Gun;
  • A full day of spy training;
  • A trip to space with Virgin Galactic;

The Saints Row 4 classification drama has been long and overdrawn but late last week it was announced that a modified version of the game would be made available in Australia. In a post on the game’s official Facebook page the precise changes have been outlined, and it has been confirmed that the Saints Row 4’s co-op mode will be incompatible with copies of the game bought overseas.

Saints Row 4 was finally deemed acceptable to be sold in Australia today, having previously been denied classification twice by the territory's ratings board. The listing isn't currently on the Australian Classification Board's site, but publisher Deep Silver provided us (Joystiq) with a statement confirming a reworked version of the game earned, in a curious twist, the MA15+ rating rather than the adult-only R18+ rating it failed to achieve previously.

The Australian Classification Board's three-member panel unanimously determined that the game was still unsuitable for release, despite the removal of its previously-offending alien anal probe.

Deep Silver revealed today that the upcoming, over-the-top, open-world action game 'Saints Row 4' has gone gold and fans are now able to pre-order a season pass for the planned DLC for €9.99 / £ 7.99 at participating retailers.

The Season Pass for Saints Row 4 will include two brand-new mission packs and the Season Pass-exclusive “Rectifier” anal probe weapon, which will help you, the President of the United States, get the ‘inside’ information from your enemies as you save Earth from a dangerous alien infestation.

Included in the Season Pass is the Director’s Cut of the previously announced “Enter the Dominatrix” DLC,  a tongue-in-cheek vision of what this content was originally going to be like, along with a second mission pack coming in late 2013.

Season Passes will be available for purchase on all platforms and include upcoming add-on content worth more than €15 / £12. Saints Row 4 launches on current-gen consoles and PC on August 20th in North America and August 23rd in the rest of the world.
