Croteam has announced that fresh downloadable content 'Legend of the Beast' for Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter will hit the PC on May 15th.

In Legend of the Beast players step into the blood-soaked shoes of Sam “Serious” Stone as he tracks down the mysterious ram-god of 'The Great Obelisk' in an all-new chapter for the series. The DLC pack will cost $4.99 and includes three new campaign missions and three new Versus and Survival mode maps.

“Our team is very excited to extend the world of the classic Serious Sam: The Second Encounter and we think the fans will really enjoy the news areas and scenarios we’ve put into Legend of the Beast,” said Davor Hunski, Chief Creative Guy at developer Croteam.

In addition to the new content, Croteam and Devolver Digital will be making all Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter’s versus and survivor multiplayer modes free-to-play via Steam and available to download at no charge permanently starting May 15th. These free modes include Capture the Flag, Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Instant Kill, Last Man Standing, My Burden, Survival and Team Survival.

A Serious Sam Complete pack is now available for purchase on Steam. The collection includes eight different Serious Sam games for a limited price of $28.90/£21.45, (until February 27th).

Those who prefer to buy the games individually can also pick up each title with a 66% discount over the weekend. These include the classic Serious Sam games and their HD remakes, the sequels Serious Sam 2 and Serious Sam 3: BFE, and Serious Sam Double D.

Once this deal expires on February 27th, the bundle will cost $84.99/£62.99.
