Bandai Namco has announced a new event for its free-to-play sword-fighting game: SoulCalibur Lost Swords. From today until June 11th, players can quest to unlock 2 additional characters:
   
Patroklos: The “Successor to the Holy Warrior”, son of the famous Sophitia Alexandra. A young man full of dreams and idealism, he fights against the evil powers that infested the world and looks for his long lost sister.


Hilde: As the heir to the King of Wolfkrone, Hilde showed an ability to rule and gather people at an early age. After her father’s insanity, our heroin had to show to her people that a true leader remains within the Kingdom: the quest to destroy Soul Edge depends on her now.


Soulcalibur Lost swords is available for free on Playstation 3 via the Playstation Store.

The next exciting chapter in the SoulCalibur franchise; SoulCalibur Lost Swords, a new free-to-play title available exclusively on the PlayStation Network for PlayStation 3 will launch "this spring", Namco has announced.

SoulCalibur Lost Swords reinvents the world-renowned weapons-based fighting franchise with a brand new item discovery and forging system as well as elemental-based fighting mechanics. Special elemental effects such as Wind and Fire will be imbued into weapons scavenged from defeated enemies as well as forged from equipment collected by the player. Players will have to strategize which weapon to take into battle for a successful win.

SoulCalibur Lost Swords will provide players with an incredibly deep single-player experience built upon the award-winning 3D weapons-based combat that is known and loved around the world. The free-to-play title will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 3 this spring in Europe and Australasia.

Two free-to-play games currently in development by Namco Bandai have been delayed, the Japanese company confirmed earlier today. Soul Calibur: Lost Swords and Ace Combat Infinity will be released sometime during 2014. Both games were supposed to be released before the end of the year. Namco Bandai will use the extra development time to increase the quality of both games.

A Beta test for the upcoming free-to-play singleplayer only game "Soul Calibur: Losts Swords" has been announced by Namco Bandai. The closed Beta test will start on the 14th of November and finish on the 18th of November. To get into the Beta test, you'll have to download the 4GB beta version of the game on the Playstation Network when it becomes available. Additional information on the Beta test as well as new images of the game can be found below.

The game also marks classic Athenian warrior Sophitia's return to the stage of history, after being killed off between SoulCaliburs 4 and 5.

Namco Bandai has confirmed that the next Soulcalibur game, called Lost Swords, is going free-to-play. It'll be available exclusively on PSN, so Xbox 360, Wii U and PC owners will miss out. We can expect more details on release date and actual game content at the Tokyo Game Show in a couple of weeks.
