The Last of Us won't receive any further single player content, Naughty Dog has confirmed. Following reports earlier this week that more downloadable content is on the way, community strategist Arne Meyer clarified there is "definitely not" more campaign chapters planned, but revealed more multiplayer add-ons would arrive throughout the year.

The Last of Us Remastered lets players lock the game's visuals to 30 frames per second. In an event attended by our friends at Eurogamer Spain, Naughty Dog's Arne Meyer delivered a presentation in which he confirmed the graphics toggle. By default the game runs at 1080p60 in single-player and multiplayer, but the addition of the 30fps lock may indicate occasional drops below 60.

PS3 survival horror The Last of Us is getting the last of its season pass content in two weeks' time, just ahead of the upcoming PS4 re-release. The studio said it's releasing the Grounded Bundle DLC in the week starting May 5th, which probably translates into May 6th for North America and May 7th for Europe and Australia.

Today Naughty Dog detailed the Grounded Bundle DLC for The Last of Us, and Community Strategist Eric Monacelli also answered a few relevant questions about The Last Of Us: Remastered for PS4 in the comments sections of both the North American and European PlayStation Blogs. Monacelli mentioned on the European Blog that a business model to offer a discount to PS3 owners on the PS4 version is being considered, much to the joy of those that asked for it:

But it looks like we might have a potentially more precise date to tie to the game. Target, GameFly, and Best Buy are all listing the game as coming out June 20, 2014. However, Amazon lists the game's release date as December 31, 2014.

The Last of Us Remastered is coming to PS4 in Summer 2014 in glorious 1080p.


Well, it’s no secret that we have been working night and day at the studio to bring The Last of Us to PS4. We’re calling it The Last of Us Remastered. Moving our efforts to the PS4 has allowed us to remaster an already phenomenal looking The Last of Us in 1080p with a list of upgrades including higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lighting, upgraded textures, along with even more improvements

There's also mention of it being a Day 1 Digital release, confirming a physical version.

While it won't surprise most of you to learn that there's a new rumour circulating about the release of The Last of Us on PlayStation 4, perhaps the fact that the quote "confirming" it has come from a Sony executive might. The company's Eurasian Software Market Manager Sercan Sulun has been quoted as saying that the hugely successful post-apocalyptic survival/adventure will be coming to the system as early as this summer, including all the DLC that launched for the PlayStation 3 version since its release last June.

Naughty Dog has outlined plans for the final The Last Of Us DLC. The focus is mainly on multiplayer, with new maps, weapons & skills promised. There will also be “a brand new difficulty mode for the single player campaign”.

The Last of Us looks to be getting just the one addition to its campaign, after Naughty Dog said it has no plans for further single-player DLC. We knew Left Behind was the only single-player addition of the three in the season pass, the first being the Abandoned Territories pack released in October, and the third previously confirmed as multiplayer too.

Could Naughty Dog's The Last of Us come to the PlayStation 4 some day? "We'll see" is the message Naughty Dog told a fan who asked that very question on the PlayStation Blog recently. "We're just getting our Naughty Dog engine up and running on PS4 as we work on the next Uncharted project," Naughty Dog community strategist Eric Monacelli said. "We will see what the future brings! :)"

This has been an incredible week at Naughty Dog as we were getting ready for two major reveals – both of which blew up the Spike TV PS4 All Access launch extravaganza. We premiered our first teaser trailer for The Last of Us: Left Behind, a single-player DLC campaign coming early next year.
