The Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Edition will be swinging its way onto Nintendo’s Wii U console on March 8th, Activision and Marvel Entertainment have announced.

The new Wii U edition of The Amazing Spider-Man includes four bonus DLC packs for the first time on disc and features the same free-roam web-slinging action as the original but with unique Wii U gameplay elements.

The Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Edition DLC Includes:
  • Stan Lee Adventure Pack – Completely voiced by the Spider-Man creator himself, you’ll play as Stan Lee and web-sling through NYC in an amazing race across the city. Take on Spidey’s powers as you wall crawl, web rush, and swing across Manhattan to collect the missing pages of Stan “The Man’s” latest script. Collect all the pages and unlock a surprise reward!
  • Lizard Rampage Pack – Take control of Dr. Connors' terrifying alter-ego in a race against time as you rampage through the streets as Lizard to defeat Oscorp guards
  • Rhino Challenge – Rampage through NYC as the unstoppable Rhino and cause as much destruction as possible before the timer runs out! The more damage you inflict, the more bonus points you earn as you build momentum ramming through taxis and cars!
  • Oscorp Search and Destroy Pack – Includes 2 mini-games through Spider-Man’s in-game cell phone
  • New suits, including the Vigilante suit from The Amazing Spider-Man movie and the Classic Spider-Man suit from the Raimi trilogy
Additional Wii U Exclusive Features:
  • Transform the Wii U GamePad with the Oscorp OsPhone – Access Spidey’s in-game cell phone via the GamePad to accept new challenges, navigate the city, and manage his upgrades
  • Off-screen Mode lets users swap instantly between playing on the big screen and the GamePad whenever they choose.

Get ready to brush up your web-shooting skills as The Amazing Spider-Man video game is now available digitally today in North America, and will be available in Europe on September 26th.

The Amazing Spider-Man video game is now available for 4800 Microsoft Points from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace, $59.99 on the PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 3, and $49.99 on Steam, including complete integration with Steam achievements.

Additionally, downloadable content for The Amazing Spider-Man video game launches for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Steam today, and includes the Rhino Challenge Pack, Oscorp Search & Destroy Pack, the all-new Lizard Rampage Pack and the highly requested Stan Lee Adventure Pack, where fans will be able to play as the comic legend himself.

Full details of each DLC pack for The Amazing Spider-Man video game below:

Rhino Challenge Pack (240MSP/$2.99) - Take control of the massive, genetically engineered villain Rhino and rampage around Manhattan in an exclusive gameplay challenge of pure destruction. As Rhino, players will be able to unleash his formidable powers to destroy anything and everything in his path in a timed event full of speed, combo streaks, and of course, a ton of things to break.

Oscorp Search & Destroy Pack (240MSP/$2.99) - In The Amazing Spider-Man video game, Spider-Man has his own smartphone to help navigate around Manhattan, locate missions and challenges and fight crime. With this pack, Spider-Man's smartphone will feature two mini-games inspired by classic arcade fun.

Lizard Rampage Pack (320MSP/$3.99) - The notorious Lizard is on the loose again in Manhattan! Take on the role of Dr. Connors' terrifying alter ego in a race against time. Go berserk through the streets using his devastating stomp attack and tail swipe to defeat Oscorp guards and earn mega points. Use his boost jump to bound great distances over the city. Destroy blast towers to buy yourself more time and delay Oscorp from releasing their cross-species containment blast across the city. This pack also includes the exclusive Vigilante Spider-Man Suit from the feature film, the suit Peter Parker dons to fight crime before developing his famous costume.

Stan Lee Adventure Pack (320MSP/$3.99) - For the first time ever, fans will be able to play as Stan Lee in The Amazing Spider-Man video game. Players take on the role of Stan "The Man" Lee in his own special mission across Manhattan, borrowing abilities from his old pal Spider-Man as they collect pages of his latest script in a spectacular race around Manhattan. Stan's mission is punctuated with his witty banter that fans have come to know and love, and a special surprise waits for them at the end of the mission - after all, this year is Spider-Man's 50th anniversary.

The Amazing Spider-Man Bundle Pack ($9.99) - Finally, for the ultimate Spider-Man fan, all four content packs can be purchased together. The Bundle Pack is only available for the PlayStation 3 and PC.

Activision has today announced some pre-order exclusives for fans that reserve an early copy of The Amazing Spider-Man video for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America.

Planned to launch June 26th, the pre-order exclusives for The Amazing Spider-Man video game are available today and include the Rhino Challenge from GameStop and a special mission featuring a fully playable Stan Lee from Amazon.com.

Activision is still revealing The Amazing Spider-Man's roster, and Black Cat is the latest character who's been confirmed. Black Cat is, appropriately enough, a skilled cat burglar and a bit of a manipulator. In other words, she's a perfect foil for clueless sap Peter Parker.

While the behemoth villain Rhino might not make it into the movie, he'll definitely be charging in our hero's direction in the web slinger's latest game.

The Amazing Spider-Man will hit stores on June 26th for the Nintendo DS, Wii, Xbox 360, 3DS, and PS3.

Activision and Marvel Entertainment, have today officially announced 'The Amazing Spider-Man' video game for the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii, 3DS and the DS.

Planned to launch summer 2012 and tied to the upcoming feature film of the same name. The Amazing Spider-Man video game is created as an epilogue story occurring entirely after the events of the movie, the game features the return of free-roaming web-slinging and evolutionary improvements to navigation and combat.

The Amazing Spider-Man features an original narrative crafted by Hollywood writer Seamus Kevin Fahey ( episodes of Spartacus: Gods of the Arena and the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica) that continues young Peter Parker’s adventures following the events of the new film. Using the game’s new Web Rush mechanic allows players to pull off a vast array of moves never before possible. With a story that takes players through many areas all over (and under) Manhattan.

Fans can check out the World premiere exclusive trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man video game during Spike TV’s Video Game Awards, airing live on Saturday, December 10th at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.
