A playable demo of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 is now available for PS3 and Xbox 360, giving budding golfers the opportunity to walk the hallowed grounds of Augusta National Golf Club and get a sneak peak at The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Resort, host of the 2012 PGA Championship.

Gamers will be able to play holes 14, 15 and 16 at Augusta National Golf Club and the opening three holes from The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island Resort.

The Xbox 360 version of the demo supports Kinect for Xbox 360 integration and is the first-ever voice-enabled and controller-free sports simulation game. Kinect tracks full body movements to create the most advanced virtual golf swing to date. Improved gameplay support for the PlayStation Move controller has also been added for the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 demo.

Electronic Arts have announced today that the world’s number one selling golf video game franchise will return with an array of exciting new features, including Kinect for Xbox 360 integration, an opportunity to experience Tiger’s golf legacy, online and social features, as well as a Collector’s Edition providing even greater access to the Masters Tournament and Augusta National Golf Club.

Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13: The Masters Collector’s Edition, marks the 22ndseason for the EA SPORTS golf simulation video game franchise and will go on sale in North America on March 27th and worldwide on March 30th, and be made available on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

With the most comprehensive swing mechanic revamp in over a decade, both the standard and Collector’s Edition of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 will provide fans unprecedented control over their swing tempo, ball position and stance, allowing players to replicate countless swing combinations used by real-world PGA TOUR players. Coupled with complete integration with Kinect for Xbox 360, including voice-enabled controls, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 lessens the gap between the real world and virtual golf course experience.

In addition to Kinect for Xbox 360 integration, EA SPORTS is providing fans with a fully immersive golf experience through all-new features such as Online Country Clubs, the chance to relive Tiger Woods’ memorable golf career accomplishments and the return of the pre-eminent tournament in all of golf – the Masters.

The Masters Collector’s Edition provides fans with the ultimate Masters experience. Fans that purchase the Collector’s Edition will receive all of the features in the standard edition game, as well as exclusive access to Augusta National Golf Club’s Tournament practice facility, Augusta National’s famous Par 3 Course, an authentic Green Jacket Presentation and a chance to explore the hallowed grounds.

The Collector’s Edition also comes packed with five additional championship courses in addition to the standard edition, allowing players to experience 21 of the world’s greatest golfing destinations.

Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy have been selected by the fans to join Tiger Woods on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 in North America and Europe, respectively. Their victories come on the heels of a three week voting contest that sparked debates amongst golf enthusiasts and campaigning by the world’s top golfers through their personal social media channels. During the final week of voting, Rickie Fowler defeated Bubba Watson by a final margin of 51% to 49% to win the American side of the bracket in the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 Match Play cover vote, while Rory McIlroy defeated Luke Donald by a final margin of 54% to 46% to win the European side.

Similar to previous EA Sports cover athlete votes for Madden NFL and NCAA Football, community reaction to the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 Match Play cover vote was overwhelmingly positive for providing fans an opportunity to decide who they think should be on the cover. Showing tremendous enthusiasm and engagement throughout the three week contest, fans cast more than 250,000 votes from over 35 countries around the world.

From October 3 through October 24, fans of the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR Facebook page participated in a “match play” style cover vote, choosing from 16 of the best golfers from around the world to find both an American and European representative to join Tiger Woods on the cover of the next iteration of the popular golf franchise in their respective region.

“Appearing on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11 was an amazing experience and helped introduce me to a whole new fan base around the world,” said Rory McIlroy. “But this year holds special meaning because it was the fans who decided to put me on the cover once again.”

“For someone that grew up playing Tiger Woods PGA TOUR and is a huge fan of the franchise, this is a great moment in my career,” said Rickie Fowler. “I’m excited to join Tiger on the cover of this year’s game and want to especially thank all of my fans who spread the word and voted for me.”

Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 will once again provide fans the opportunity to play on the hallowed grounds of Augusta National Golf Club and will feature all-new experiences around Tiger Woods’ memorable golf accomplishments throughout his lifetime and will be the first controller-free, voice-enabled and body tracking sports simulation game to support the Kinect motion control system for the Xbox 360.

In addition to the standard edition game, there will also be a Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13: The Masters Collector’s Edition available as well. This collector’s edition will have its own unique box art and expanded features including all the courses and features available in the standard edition, plus five additional golf courses, Augusta National’s world-class Tournament Practice Facility, and much more.

EA Sports is giving fans an opportunity to vote and determine who will join Tiger Woods on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13. From October 3rd until October 23rd, fans can participate in a voting campaign on facebook and choose among 16 golfers.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, which launches in March 2012, will have two versions of the box art – one to appear in North America and one in Europe. Eight American golfers will be featured on one side of the bracket and eight European golfers on the opposite side, with two golfers going head-to-head each week until a winner is determined on each side. The winners will be announced via Facebook on October 24th.
