Trine 2: Goblin Menace introduces six new skills to the Trine 2 game world and an all-new campaign, spanning six unique levels, further improving the award-winning visuals of the original Trine 2. All the new skills are also playable in the original game and provide additional fun in multiplayer for all Trine 2 players. The Goblin Menace campaign thrusts the heroic trio of Amadeus the Wizard, Pontius the Knight and Zoya the Thief into an adventure chock full of goblin villainy.

The new skills also work in the original Trine 2, and breathe new life into the older levels and allow many new solutions. I'm very excited to see how players use the new skills!" said Lauri Hyvarinen, CEO of Frozenbyte.
Trine 2: Goblin Menace will be released later on Mac App Store, and on Linux, and it will also be included in Trine 2: Director's Cut for Nintendo's Wii U. In preparation for the Goblin Menace expansion, Trine 2 on Steam has been updated with a major 2 GB patch to make sure the game and the new expansion work together in multiplayer. Some of this work is still ongoing and will bring many long-requested features to all Trine 2 players, including an arrow indicator of other players location in multiplayer, lots of minor gameplay changes and additions and technical fixes.
Moreover, current Trine 2: Collector's Edition owners on Steam get immediate access to a beta version of Goblin Menace, featuring the first two levels. Once the Goblin Menace expansion is available for purchase on September 6th, the beta will end.
"We wanted to give our loyal fans something extra and also get some early feedback before the official launch. The Goblin Menace is compatible with the original Trine 2 in multiplayer, and this is one of the areas we want to focus on during the beta test. We've been working on the Goblin Menace for almost a year and are very proud of it. We can't wait for all the feedback!" said Lauri Hyvärinen, CEO of Frozenbyte.
Trine 2: Goblin Menace will cost $7.99/6.99 EUR, with a small launch discount for early buyers on Steam. The expansion is first released for PC and Mac, and will then soon be released on the Mac App Store, and on Linux.

Intended to be launched in the holiday season of 2012, Trine 2: Director's Cut features the original game with numerous enhancements and gameplay polish, alongside a new game mode called the "Magic Mayhem", designed exclusively for Wii U. The upcoming new expansion campaign is also planned to come out on the Wii U.
"We are thrilled to work on Wii U and bring the best version of Trine 2 to the platform," said Lauri Hyvärinen, CEO of Frozenbyte. "Trine 2: Director's Cut features many things that we had to cut from the original release on other platforms and a completely new user experience tailored especially for Wii U. We are also going to introduce the new "Magic Mayhem" party mode that brings the frantic multiplayer of Trine 2 into a more challenging environment where players can battle and laugh together."
"Simultaneously we are working on the upcoming expansion for Trine 2, which will come out on Wii U at the same time. It will provide an even more exhilarating adventure following the heroic trio of Amadeus, Pontius and Zoya – or as otherwise known, the Wizard, the Knight and the Thief. The expansion is our best work yet and absolutely stunning in every respect, and is going to be a fantastic experience on Wii U."
Trine 2: Director's Cut is intended to be released on Wii U during the holiday season. Trine 2 is currently available on Steam for PC/Mac, the Mac App Store, Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360, PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3, and Linux.

"The Hardcore Mode is our thanks to our most hardcore fans, and a throwback to the good old days," Frozenbyte CEO Lauri Hyvärinen says, and continues: "This is for the fans who thought the Tower of Sarek level in the first game was just right in its pre-patches state, for those who really want an extra challenge from the game. The Hardcore Mode adds a big value to replayability, especially in online and offline co-op, and really means you have to work together or face game over."
Trine 2 is available now on Steam for PC/Mac, the Mac App Store, Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360, and the PlayStation Network for the PlayStation 3.

As compensation for the game's delayed European launch, the game's release in the region will be discounted approximately 30% for two weeks. Moreover, Trine 2 will be completely free for European PlayStation Plus subscribers for a limited time.
"We are all incredibly thrilled that Trine 2 is finally arriving in the European PlayStation Store," commented Aram Jabbari, Manager of PR and Sales at Atlus. "We are very aware of how frustrating the delay has been for the game's fans, who continue to support the title despite the long wait. Because of their unyielding dedication, we are doing everything we can to show our appreciation for their patience with a discount of about 30% that will last for two weeks. We are also excited to work with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe to make the game completely free for a limited time for European PlayStation Plus users."
Trine 2 presents gamers with a fantasy world full of more vibrant color and immersive liveliness than any title in recent memory. As either the powerful Knight, agile Thief, or crafty Wizard, players will set out on a quest to save the world from a mysterious magic that has brought plants to destructive, havoc-wreaking life.
Through a series of beautifully rendered stages, each highly animated and bursting with color, adventurers will solve brain-teasing puzzles and defeat a variety of foes as they seek the source of their world's calamity. Trine 2's greatest new addition is that of online support for its defining 3-player cooperative play, which allows three friends-in the same room or across the world-to team up through the entire single player campaign.
