2K today announced that WWE 2K14, the forthcoming release in the WWE flagship video game franchise, will include the 30 Years of WrestleMania mode, a single-player campaign featuring iconic WrestleMania matches and a roster spanning three decades of WWE history.

Commencing with the inaugural WrestleMania, the nostalgic journey takes players through more than 45 matches, including the legendary match between Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 3; WWE 2K14 cover Superstar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson vs. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan in an "Icon vs. Icon" match at WrestleMania 18; and the WrestleMania 28 main event featuring The Rock vs. John Cena. The 30 Years of WrestleMania mode is inspired by the forthcoming WWE milestone – WrestleMania 30, scheduled for Sunday, April 6th, 2014 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.

"For nearly three decades, WWE has inspired millions worldwide through the historic, cultural and undeniable phenomenon that is WrestleMania," said Chris Snyder, Senior Director of Marketing at 2K. "Through the 30 Years of WrestleMania Mode in WWE 2K14, players can now relive their favorite nostalgic and recent WrestleMania moments – from an incredible roster to authentic presentation and match play – in a unique and engaging way."

WWE 2K14's 30 Years of WrestleMania mode will organize matches into a progressive single-player campaign, with the format curated by five distinct eras in WWE history. Unique presentation elements transport players through the different eras, including authentically recreated arenas, WWE Superstar entrances and ring attires, as well as era-specific graphics, screen filters and other presentation elements.

In addition, extensive WWE-produced video packages and in-game, cinematic cut scenes set the stage and provide detailed background information on key matches. Historical objectives encourage players to authentically replicate popular match moments, while completing objectives will unlock a host of rewards, including additional playable WWE Superstars, alternate attire options, new arenas and WWE archive photography.

In celebration of today's announcement, 2K also disclosed that the Company and Twitch.TV will present the 30 Years of WrestleMania mode roster reveal – live on www.twitch.tv/2K from WWE SummerSlam Axxess on Saturday, August 17th at 12:30 p.m. PDT. The reveal will be hosted by Jim Ross, Jerry "The King" Lawler and WWE Superstar Damien Sandow.

Developed by Yukes for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, WWE 2K14 will launch on October 29th in North America and November 1st, 2013 internationally.

Yesterday, we shared surprising and exciting information about the inclusion of Ultimate Warrior in WWE 2K14. At a preview event in New York City, I got to talk to the man himself about what this means for him and for the series. Before I sat down with the legend, I was given access to multiplayer matches with a small selection of superstars. Included in the limited roster are The Rock, John Cena, Dolph Ziggler, Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, Randy "Macho Man" Savage, and Ultimate Warrior. Even though WWE 2K14 looks similar to last year's release under THQ, matches now feel smoother and faster.

2K today announced the emphatic return of Ultimate Warrior to the ring – virtually – in WWE 2K14, the forthcoming installment in the flagship WWE video game franchise. Making his long-awaited arrival from Parts Unknown, the self-professed “Founding Father of Life Intensity” will be an exclusive playable character for those who pre-order the game at any participating retailer for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.

“Immortality is inspiration, pure and simple. An example to others that they, too, can do things larger than the life they are actually living, and Ultimate Warrior was the pure embodiment of this belief, in what has proven to be a very attention-getting and inspiring way,” said Warrior. “It was my good fortune to be his creator and performer, and I am humbled by all those fans who’ve not only kept his legacy alive, but deepened it over time. In WWE 2K14, Ultimate Warrior’s creed, ‘Always Believe,’ lives on.”

Making his WWE debut in 1987, Ultimate Warrior garnered worldwide attention and became a pop-culture phenomenon for his iconic music and ring entrance, zealous personality, boundless energy and dominant in-ring prowess. Though he faced many rivals throughout his career, including Honky Tonk Man, “Ravishing” Rick Rude, Sgt. Slaughter, “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Undertaker, perhaps his most celebrated match was against Hulk Hogan in “The Ultimate Challenge” at WrestleMania VI on April 1st, 1990.  Warrior defeated Hogan that day to unify the WWE Championship and Intercontinental Championship, becoming the first WWE Superstar ever to hold both titles simultaneously.

“There has never been another WWE Superstar quite like the Ultimate Warrior – his intensity and energy is unmatched, and his legacy is undeniable,” said Chris Snyder, Senior Director of Marketing at 2K. “Fans love him, opponents fear him and everyone can agree that he’s one of the most iconic Legends in WWE history. Pre-ordering WWE 2K14 is the only way we mere mortals will ever have a glimpse into the greatness that is Ultimate Warrior.”

Players who pre-order WWE 2K14 will receive the Ultimate Warrior at no extra cost on launch day on October 29th in North America and November 1st, 2013 internationally.
