EA today announced that “internal estimates” have revealed that Battlefield 3 has sold through five million copies in it’s first global week of release, making it the fastest-selling game in EA’s history. How in the hell did it get there? Well, it could be because of the metacritic rating averaging 85 on consoles and above 90 on the PC (as of today), it could be because of the 2.5 million “likes” over on Facebook, or it could be because of all of the other great games in this storied franchise.
