Killing Floor goes free to play for a weekend this December 8th

Tripwire Interactive are offering gamers a chance to play 'Killing Floor' for free on Thursday 8th December 2011 until Sunday 11th December on Steam, allowing everyone who has not yet played the game a chance to try it out completely free.

First released back in 2009, Killing Floor is a six player co-op survival horror FPS in which players must work together to fight against waves of zombies specimens, as players progress each wave becomes successively more difficult until it concludes with a battle with a 'boss' called the Patriarch. Players can earn in-game money for each kill, and surviving until the end of a wave. In-game money can be spent by visiting the Trader between waves who sells ammo, armor, and additional weapons.

Players are encouraged to work together by trading items and dropping money to help fellow team mates, healing is more effective on other players than themselves, and the team can strategically weld doors shut to provide a temporary barrier from the oncoming hoard while funneling the other creatures to specific areas.

Killing Floor is available now on Steam, Direct 2 Drive and other digital outlets, as well as in stores across the world.
