Sonic CD now available on multiple formats

Sonic CD will be released on multiple platforms starting today (December 14th), SEGA has announced.

The revamped version of this popular title includes the original Japanese and US soundtracks as requested by the fans, and, for the first time, the ability to play the game as Sonic’s best friend, Tails, unlockable by clearing the game for the first time. Sonic CD also features the first appearance of Metal Sonic, one of Sonic’s most enduring nemeses.

Sonic CD will be available today on Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 (400 MSP). Versions for Android and iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad will be available today and on December 15th, respectively, for a limited-time, special sale price of $1.99 / £1.49 / €1.59.

The game comes to PlayStation Network today in Europe and December 20th in the U.S. for $4.99 / £3.59/ €4.49. Sonic CD will also be released on Windows Phone in the New Year.
