First up, in the new "features" video, players will get a sneak peek of the special features from the next-gen version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, including high-definition visuals, Remote Play via the PlayStation Vita, DualShock 4 controller touchpad support, player content sharing and mouse/keyboard play capabilities.
In addition, through a newly released “PS4 Conversations with Creators” video, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Director/ Producer Naoki Yoshida shares his own positive experience with developing for the PlayStation 4, as well as his thoughts on the major, long-term player benefits offered through the console’s own advanced capabilities.
Square Enix has also confirmed that all PlayStation 4 owners will be able to join the Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn beta test at no charge starting on February 22nd until March 3rd. The second phase of the beta test will begin on April 4th until April 7th. Players who own the PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be able to transfer their accounts to the PlayStation 4 version for free starting April 11th in preparation for games launch.
Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn will be available for the PlayStation 4 on April 14th, 2014 in both Standard Edition ($39.99) and Collector’s Edition ($79.99). The Collector’s Edition for the PlayStation 4 will be available exclusively on the Square Enix Online Store. A digital version of the Collector’s Edition will be available for $59.99 through the PlayStation Network. A free 30-day trial is included for new accounts, with monthly subscriptions starting at $12.99.
