Destiny's competitive multiplayer won't be available the second you boot the game up for the first time. Bungie has revealed to Eurogamer that, unlike Halo, you'll need to unlock Player vs Player (PvP) gameplay, which should take you around a couple of hours. Once you've done this with one character, however, it'll be available to all of your other ones too.
