SEGA announced today that ‘The Trigger’, the fifth add-on pack for survival horror Alien: Isolation, will be available to download from today. Seeing players compete against the clock across three terrifying new maps for Alien: Isolation’s Survivor Mode, ‘The Trigger’ may be the game’s most challenging add-on to date.

Set before the events of Alien: Isolation, ‘The Trigger’ puts players in the shoes of Sevastopol Station’s Ricardo. Across the three new maps, players will find a new terror around every corner. The creature is quick and cunning and the synthetics ruthless and relentless; both are brutal and deadly.

Prioritising the lives of the station’s inhabitants over his own survival, Ricardo will do whatever he can to assist Marshal Waits in his plan to destroy the creature. There was a package of explosives with one of the marshals but nothing has been heard of him for some time. If Ricardo can secure Prisoner Processing and escape the creature, there’s a chance he can track down the marshal in Synthetic Storage and blast the creature into the depths of space.

Alien: Isolation is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Creative Assembly doesn't appear to have any plans to release the Oculus Rift version of Alien Isolation, which the developer states is only a prototype. "What we've got at the moment with @oculus is a prototype," the developer told a fan asking whether there'll be a public demo of the game on Rift, "there's no full game in dev". The news may come as a disappointment to those who had been hoping to try out the game on the VR headset, particularly given its terrifying potential.

SEGA has officially announced Alien: Isolation, a first person survival-horror game that will focus on capturing the horror and tension evoked by Ridley Scott’s 1979 classic film, Alien. Developed by Creative Assembly, Alien: Isolation is due for release in late 2014 on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC.

Set fifteen years after the events of Alien, Alien: Isolation tells the story of Amanda Ripley, daughter of movie series' protagonist, Ellen Ripley. Amanda, now a Weyland-Yutani employee, heads to a large trading station where the audio log detailing the events from the Nostromo has been discovered. Invoking the spirit of the classic film, you'll be tasked with avoiding the ruthless Xenomorph stalking the shadows of the trading station. Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.

“In Alien: Isolation, we have taken the series back to the roots of Ridley Scott’s 1979 movie, the original survival horror,” said Alistair Hope, Creative Lead at Creative Assembly. “Our Alien is a truly terrifying creature, as intelligent as he is hostile, relentless, brutal and unstoppable. This is the Alien game fans of the series have always wanted.”

“Creative Assembly has created a truly incredible gaming experience, capturing perfectly the very core of what has made the Alien franchise remain relevant after 35 years,” said Jeffrey Godsick, president of Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products. “This partnership has led to the creation of a game that is simply outstanding and sets the tone for what is to come this year for the 35th anniversary of Alien.”

For a game that Sega hasn’t even announced yet or won’t confirm exists, they’re sure doing a bad job keeping it under wraps. First we had the box art and concept art leak, then we had a handful of screenshots leak, then we probably had twenty other things I’m forgetting and now a since removed listing has popped up on the Xbox Marketplace which details the game.Thankfully, a NeoGAF user was able to grab the information before it was pulled:
