John L. Beiswenger, an American science fiction author, is suing Ubisoft over alleged similarities between his novel, Link, and the Assassin's Creed franchise. Beiswenger's novel is based on the premise that ancestral memories can be "accessed, recalled, relived and re-experienced" by participants in a radical new scientific process. The suit lists a wide range of similarities, from narrative themes to specific use of individual words.

The new levels will likely include more first-person puzzles exploring the life of modern day protagonist Desmond. The list of fresh awards, posted online by X360A, includes mention of block-based platforming.

Ubisoft Motion Pictures is close to announcing a partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment to adapt Assassin's Creed into a major Hollywood production, says Variety. The studio, first announced in May, has been commanding attention from a number of top studios with the property. Sony's bid for the Assassin's Creed film rights reportedly beat out Universal, among others.

With Revelations coming out on November 15, this year is the third in a row we've gotten a new, non-spinoff Assassin's Creed game, and next year would be the fourth in as many years. While it might seem like too much for such a short period, there is a reason for Ubisoft Montreal to get so many games out in such a short period -- the world is ending next December.
