Plans to turn Epic Games' "Gears of War" into a film franchise are being revived. Creative Artists Agency will be meeting with producers in the coming weeks to find a new home for the film.

The fourth map pack for Gears of War 3, 'Forces of Nature' is now available for download from the Xbox Live Market Place for 800MSP or for free for season pass holders.

The DLC feature three brand new maps, Cove, Aftermath and Artillery, as well as the return of the two fan favourites maps, Jacinto and Raven Down, each featuring unique weather conditions.

Also included are 250 Achievement Points and four new multiplayer characters; the Savage Hunter, and new variants of Commando Dom, Mechanic Baird, and the Savage Grenadier Elite.

In between talking about Wii U, PlayStation Vita and Jazz Jackrabbit on IGN Start's Up at Noon, Epic Games designer Cliff Bleszinski touched on the past and future of Gears of War.

Epic Games have released a couple of trailers from Forces of Nature, the new Gears of War 3 DLC that includes three brand new maps (Cove, Aftermath and Artillery), plus two old fan favorites (Jacinto and Raven Down), four character models, and the return of the Guardian mode.

Also included in the DLC are new special weapons, which are hidden in the maps during Horde and Beast mode called 'Elemental Cleavers', these Cleavers do different types of damage. The Snow Cleaver, for example, throws a stunning gust of icy wind at an enemy, while the Emulsion Cleaver explodes on impact in an AoE burst.

The Forces of Nature DLC will be available to download for 800 MS Points, while Gears of War 3 Season Pass holders will get the content free when it launches on March 27th.

Epic Games have today revealed the details of the fourth DLC for Gears of War 3, 'Forces of Nature'.

Available to download on March 27th, the DLC feature three brand new maps, Cove, Aftermath and Artillery, as well as the return of the two fan favourites, Jacinto and Raven Down. The all new maps will take place during or after a natural disaster. "Fog, snowstorms and tsunamis will make playing these maps quite an adventure," Epic says.

Today, Microsoft and Epic release 'Fenix Rising,' the third major game add-on for Gears of War 3. Featuring five new multiplayer maps inspired by the life and experiences of Marcus Fenix, Fenix Rising also introduces four character skins and a new experience system that allows players to rank up through level 100 four times to unlock exclusive emblems and weapon skins.

With the purchase of the add-on, players who attain level 100 will have a choice to 'Re-up'. Their experience and rank will be reset, but all other progression (including TrueSkill rating) will remain intact. Players can Re-up up to three times, earning new wings colours each time: Red, Green, and Gold. Each Re-up level also awards the player an exclusive, custom weapon skin that cannot be obtained by any other means.

Available on Xbox LIVE for 800 Microsoft Points or included as part of the Gears of War 3 Season Pass, Fenix Rising expands the multiplayer battlefield with five new maps – Academy, Anvil, Depths, Escalation, and the Slab which can be played across Versus Multiplayer, Horde and Beast Mode. Additionally, players who purchase Fenix Rising will gain access to four new character skins (Recruit Clayton, Thrashball Cole - Limited Edition, Savage Marauder and Savage Kantus - Limited Edition) for use in Versus Multiplayer and Horde Mode.

Gears of War 3 DLC "Fenix Rising" will include several multiplayer maps. G4 has an exclusive look at "The Slab." Before Gears of War 1 Marcus was incarcerated at Jacinto Maximum Security Prison, affectionately nicknamed The Slab.

Epic games have today announced the third major add-on for Gears of War 3, 'Fenix Rising', which features five new multiplayer maps inspired by significant locales in the Gears of War 3 campaign, four new character skins and a new system that allows players to rank up through level 100 multiple times to unlock exclusive emblems and weapon skins.

With the purchase of the add-on, players who attain level 100 will have a choice to 'Re-up', the experience and rank will be reset, but all other progression (including TrueSkill rating) will remain intact. The second major game add-on for Gears of War 3, 'RAAM’s Shadow,' is now available to download from the Xbox Live Marketplace for 1,200 Microsoft points.

Marked as the biggest add-on for the Gears of War franchise to date, RAAM's Shadow delivers more than three hours of new campaign gameplay, and for the first time, features missions on both sides of the Locust war.

Set in the chaos of post-Emergence Day Sera, RAAM’s Shadow drops players into a new team of Gears known as Zeta Squad as they attempt to evacuate Ilima City and protect the citizens against a Locust Kryll storm. Taking on the infamous Locust leader from the original Gears of War, General RAAM, Zeta features the familiar faces of Michael Barrick (from Gears of War comics fame), Lt. Minh Young Kim (Gears of War) and Tai Kaliso (Gears of War 2), and introduces a new female comrade, Alicia Valera.

In addition to fighting as a new squad of Gears, players will step into the boots of RAAM himself, and for the first time, storm a human stronghold from the perspective of one of the series’ most legendary bosses.

On top of the new campaign, RAAM’s Shadow also features the Chocolate Weapon Set, new Achievements worth an additional 250 Gamerscore and six new multiplayer characters, including General RAAM, the Theron Elite Commando, Alicia Valera, Lt. Minh Young Kim, Tai Kaliso and Michael Barrick.

Epic Games are today celebrating the holidays with a gift for Gears of War 3 fans the 'Versus Booster Map Pack,' which will be available for free today on Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

Presented by Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol the Versus Booster Map Pack will feature five new maps, which include the two brand new maps, Bullet Marsh and Clocktower, as well as Azura, Rustlung and Blood Drive from the Horde Command Pack.

In addition to the free map pack Epic Games and Microsoft are also challenging gamers with there own 'Impossible Mission', players who complete the Gears of War 3's campaign on Insane difficulty before 25th December 2011 either in single or multiplayer mode, will unlock the exclusive Mission: Impossible: Ghost Protocol Weapon Skin Pack. The Impossible Mission 5-pack includes a Ghost Protocol Lancer, Hammerburst, Retro Lancer, Gnasher Shotgun and Sawed-off Shotgun.

All players who register and attempt to complete the campaign on Insane difficulty will have a chance to win prizes, but only those who accomplish Impossible Mission by the deadline will receive the exclusive weapons pack. Those who have already completed the campaign on Insane will automatically receive the weapon skin pack on 31st December.

Gamers can register by either watching the Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol movie trailer on Xbox LIVE or by downloading the free Mission: Impossible Gamer Pic & Theme pack. Epic games have announced that they will be giving away free DLC for Gears of War 3. The "Versus Booster Map Pack" will be available on November 24th (Thanksgiving day), and will add five maps into the Gears of War 3 multiplayer mode. Epic games says it's meant to "give thanks" to fans that have supported the franchise so far.

The free DLC will include two maps from Gears of War 1: Swamp and Clocktower as well as the three maps which are available in the Horde Command Pack: Asura, Rustlung and Blooddrive.

The Horde Command pack which was previously delayed is now available for 800Msp from the Xbox Live Marketplace. For those who only wanted to purchase the Horde Command Pack for the maps alone and NOT the new fortification upgrades, characters or weapon skins, it may be worth waiting for the free Versus Booster Map Pack this November 24th.

Epic games have revealed today that the Horde Command Pack for Gears of War 3, which was planned to be launched today has been delayed until further notice due to technical issues.

"The scheduled Horde Command Pack release for Gears of War 3 is temporarily delayed due to a technical issue. We apologize to those of you who are anxiously awaiting to play. We know this is disappointing news as we’ve seen a lot of posts today showing excitement for this content. We have folks working around the clock to resolve this issue ASAP so you can all play and enjoy the Command Pack." wrote GoW3's community manager on the game's forum.

The Horde Command pack includes three new maps, three new multiplayer characters, two new skins and New fortification upgrades for the Horde mode for 800MSP.
