The Xbox 360 exclusive Medal of Honor: Warfighter multiplayer beta kicks off today (October 5th), ahead of its launch of October 23rd in the US and October 26th in the UK.

EA has today announced that the Medal of Honor Warfighter Multiplayer Open Beta will be available for download for the Xbox 360 this Friday, October 5th.

The Beta, which is available for everyone who owns an Xbox Live Gold account, will include the brand new multiplayer mode called HotSpot, which tasks players with attacking and defending randomly chosen locations. Players can choose from among 12 Tier 1 units including the British SAS, German KSK, Russian Spetsnaz Alfa Group, Korean UDT and U.S. Navy SEAL.

As an added bonus, gamers who download the beta will also be awarded with 60 minutes of Double XP when the full game launches in North America on October 23rd and in Europe on October 26th.

EA has today announced that the multiplayer beta for Medal of Honor Warfighter will be available for a limited time in early October exclusively for the Xbox 360.

In the beta players can choose from among 12 Tier 1 units including the British SAS, German KSK, Russian Spetsnaz Alfa Group, Korean UDT and U.S. Navy Seals which can be used in the brand new multiplayer mode called HotSpot. In Hotspot players attack and defend randomly-selected locations on the Sarajevo Stadium map in Bosnia. Inspired by real-life operations, players team-up in pairs using the game's unique co-op Fireteam system for a competitive advantage on the battlefield.

Fans who join the beta can also help to unlock the new Linkin Park "Castle of Glass" music video. EA will release the video five days after the beta launches but gamers can unlock it earlier by downloading the beta and hitting the three million download mark.

In addition, EA has also revealed that gamers who download the beta will also be awarded with 60 minutes of Double XP when the full game launches.

Medal of Honor Warfighter will be available in North America on October 23rd and in Europe on October 26th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

EA and Sony Pictures have announced a cross-promotional partnership in North America that will result in a $1 million minimum donation to charities benefiting the nation’s veterans.

The pack will be available for sale in the week of December 17th, in conjunction with the theatrical debut of Zero Dark Thirty.

The Medal of Honor Warfighter Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack includes two new multiplayer maps inspired by real world locations. Set in one of the most dangerous hotspots in the world, the first map is Darra Gun Market, Pakistan’s flourishing arms bazaar. Darra, the largest illegal arms market in the world, is a tribal land based on two principles – hospitality and revenge. No police are allowed to enter the area and the laws are made by the tribal leader. The second location is Chitral, which sits in the far north of Pakistan, bounded by Afghanistan to the west and China to the north. It is a remote, rugged area governed by tribes that will not allow even the Pakistani army to operate there.

First reveal of Preacher's story in Medal of Honor Warfighter's Single Player campaign, which shows Preacher and his fellow teammates being sent in to solve a problem, hunt down the global threat and take the fight to the enemy.

In a post on Reddit, DICE has confirmed that pre-ordering Medal of Honor: Warfighter won't be the only way to gain access to the Battlefield 4 beta, although it will guarantee entry.

"There will be other ways to get into the beta aside from MoH Warfighter. At this time, however, it is the only way to guarantee entry." said community manager Ian Tornay

In addition Ian Tornay has stated that DICE will continue its support for Battlefield 3 and also addressed fans concerns that Battlefield 4 is being worked on too soon after the launch of Battlefield 3.

"We've been seeing a lot of concerns about the pacing of release (i.e. "only" two years after BF3). I think it's worth noting that DICE has released a Battlefield game every two years or sooner AND Mirror's Edge at least every two years. I truly believe that we're in one of the best positions to be creating our next title - Frostbite 2 has matured, we've been gathering fan feedback like crazy, Battlefield 3 continues to expand with features which we can learn from, and we've got more data about how people play than ever."

EA has announced that access to the exclusive beta for Battlefield 4, the next entry in DICE’s award-winning shooter series, will be available for those who pre-order the Medal of Honor Warfighter Limited Edition.

"The exclusive Battlefield 4 beta will be available in Fall 2013," EA said. "additional details regarding Battlefield 4 will be revealed at a later date."
