A Windows PC version of Fable Anniversary is on its way, according to a teaser trailer released today by developer Lionhead Studios. "Since launching Fable Anniversary on Xbox 360, we've been inundated with requests to bring the game to PC," reads the trailer's YouTube description. The video fills up with fan messages along those lines, and then shows a Steam notification for a friend who's playing Fable Anniversary.

Peter Molyneux believes that no matter how hard he tries, the perfect games he imagines will never quite come to fruition. Speaking to Develop at this month’s Casual Connect, the Fable and Populous creator said that any creative process is subject to “empirical decay” from inception to final product, which prevents him from creating the masterpiece he has been striving for.

A gameplay video showing off the first 10 minutes of Lionhead Studio's remastering Fable Anniversary on Xbox 360. Fable Anniversary will hit shelves on the 4th February 2014 in North America, the 6th February in Asia and the 7th February in Europe.


Lionhead Studios is working on a non-Fable game, it has confirmed to Eurogamer. The Microsoft-owned developer has two announced projects in the works: Fable Anniversary, a HD remake of the first Fable game, and Fable Legends, a multiplayer-focused game for Xbox One. But it's also got more going on, as Eurogamer discovered as part of an article profiling the studio published this morning.

Microsoft has a listing for something called Fable Trilogy, a bundle of the first three Fable games for the Xbox 360. According to the description, the bundle will include the soon to be released Fable Anniversary, Fable II, and Fable III. The description also states that the bundle will be priced at a discounted rate when compared to purchasing each game individually.

Fable Anniversary could release on PC "if there's demand for it", lead designer Ted Timmins has revealed, asking fans to speak up if they'd like to see a PC port. "if there are any PC fans out there, I would say keep demanding it," Timmins added, "because I would love to see Fable Anniversary on PC, and we'll only be able to do it if there's demand for it and our fanbase wants it."

Fable Anniversary, a high-definition remake of the original Fable, will be available on Xbox 360 this holiday season, announced Lionhead Studios' Ted Timmins on Major Nelson's podcast today. Lionhead teased the HD remake earlier today. The studio is remastering Fable: The Lost Chapters, the expanded edition of the game that was released in September 2005 on Windows PC and Xbox and in October 2008 on Mac.

Lionhead has teased an HD remake of the 2004 role-playing game Fable 1. The character shown in the video is Jack of Blades, the main villain in Fable 1. At the end of the teaser is the Xbox 360 logo, suggesting the game will launch on that platform.
